A private, invite-only Rummikub game built to keep long-distance family connected through play. Inspired by the chat-based games you can pass back and forth on iPhone, this brings the classic tile game to any browser — anywhere in the world.
Features real-time multiplayer, a built-in in-game chat, and a clean drag-and-drop board. A platform experiment in deploying interactive, stateful web apps using Java, Node.js, and Render.com — proving the stack works for games, apps, and beyond.

Pick a class, roll your die, and dive into DnD-lite combat with real stakes. Play solo or invite friends to the same party. Choose from curated Adventure Modules with hand-crafted story arcs, or go full Sandbox mode where you shape the entire world.
Built to explore LLMs for dynamic content generation — every DM response is generated fresh, making no two playthroughs alike. Works on phone, tablet, or browser.
FatFishLabs is a solo indie game studio — one developer, a Unity license, and a drive to ship. No big team, no crunch culture, no publisher. Just a creative space to experiment and build.
Most projects are born from game jams — tight deadlines that force creative scoping and fast iteration. The GameDev.tv jams have been a home base, producing Orbital (2025) and Lemonade Domination (2024). Between jams, the lab keeps running with prototypes like BlockadeRunner and learning projects like Smasher.
The lab has expanded beyond Unity into web and full-stack territory. The newest experiment: a live multiplayer Rummikub game built with Java and Node.js, deployed on Render.com — a test platform for hosting games, apps, and services across the web. Inspired by the chat-based pass-and-play games on iPhone, it adds real-time chat so long-distance family can still sit around the same table.
The latest frontier is AI-powered game experiences. The Chronicle is a text adventure with a twist — an LLM Dungeon Master that generates story, adapts to player choices in real time, and manages DnD-lite combat. Built to understand how large language models can power truly dynamic gameplay. Play solo or bring a party. Every session is different.
The focus is on learning by shipping. Shaders, AI state machines, Unity Events, physics, post-processing — every project is a chance to go deep on something new and walk away with something playable.
All games are free to play in your browser on itch.io. No installs. Just click and play.
Feedback, bug reports, jam invites, or just to say hi — all welcome.
